Veracel’s operations comprehend all stages in
pulp production – from eucalyptus planting to final customer shipment.
The pulp produced is intended for the two company’s shareholders: Fibria sells the product with its production volumes. Stora Enso takes the pulp to its paper producing units around the world.
Opened in September 2005, the Veracel Mill has been producing about 1 million tons of eucalyptus blanched pulp per year, and is considered one of the most advanced industrial facilities in the world.
The company has a marine terminal for shipping the production to the Portocel port, where pulp is sent to international markets, especially Europe, United States and Asia.
| In an effort to preserve and recover the Atlantic Forest, the company reserved 48% of its areas for recovery and preservation of native forests, almost the same area dedicated to eucalyptus planting. |
