Shareholders speak to lawmakers about Veracel - 06.30.03
On June 10, the presidents of StoraEnso Latino America, Nills Grafström, and Aracruz Celulose, Carlos Aguiar, and of Veracel, Vitor Costa, met with several dozen Bahian deputies and senators to present the Veracel Project to them. The event, which lasted for some two and a half hours, took place in the Blue Tree Towers Hotel in Brasília. Also in attendance were Antonio Sergio Alipio, Forestry Director of Veracel and Ronaldo Sampaio, Director of Finance and other representatives of the shareholders. Mr. Grafström and Mr. Aguiar briefly presented their companies, emphasizing their importance within the context of the Veracel Project. Mr. Costa described the history of Veracel and presented information that confirmed the participation of the company in the social and economic development of the region. The magnitude of the project and its influence in the economy and regional development were the features that most interested the audience.
