Veracel transfers administrative services to the plant - 03.09.04
On March 1, Veracel's administrative services team transferred its activities to a new address in the municipality of Eunápolis. The services previously carried out in the old office in the Estela Reis neighborhood now will take place on the site where the pulp mill is being built, at Km 24 of the BA-275 highway. "This change shows how much the industrial project has advanced, now in a new phase with construction work and mechanical assembly of the mill underway," said Veracel's President Vitor Costa.
He noted that the transfer to the new address was always part of the project. "Although we are physically further away from the largest urban centers of the region, such as Eunápolis and Porto Seguro, nevertheless we are closer to finishing the project desired by all of these municipalities: the construction of the mill," Costa said.
The architectural project of the new facilities, consisting of six 370-m2 office blocks, linked in the middle, is reminiscent of a star and was conceived to help integrate employees working there - common access to all of the offices is through the central part of the building. Employees and visitors can eat in a restaurant built alongside that has capacity to serve 7,000 meals per day. There are also modules for basic services. Thus, employees can take advantage of their free time to carry out their daily chores without leaving the site.
The nursery, where eucalyptus and Atlantic Forest native species seedlings are produced, will continue operating in its current location at the Fazenda Santa Cruz, just off the BR-101 highway in Eunápolis. Veracel's executive team has been analyzing a number of different projects designed to take advantage of the structure of the former offices.

The new address for sending correspondence to Veracel now is BA-275 - Km 24 - Caixa Postal 21 - Eunápolis/BA. The CEP (Postal Code) has still not been decided upon. The central switchboard telephone is (73) 281-8000. Meetings with members of the general public will be at the new office, which should be scheduled in advance.
A number of alternatives exist for driving to the site. For those coming via the BA 683 highway linking BR-101 to Barrolândia, turn left upon arriving in Barrolândia and continue for another 18 kilometers. BA-275 also can be used, coming through Itapebi, which is 24 km from the plant. Visitors coming from Belmonte should take BA-275, driving through Barrolândia.
