Veracel seeks partners for a project in Barrolandia - 07.05.04

photoVeracel is seeking to engage the companies that are its partners in the pulp mill project to help in the construction of sewage and a rain water drainage network in the municipal district of Barrolândia (Belmonte). The project, which is of major importance for the development of the region, has been divided into three stages.

Project A, currently underway, corresponds to one-third of the city and will benefit 300 homes and approximately 1,500 inhabitants. In this stage alone, to be totally paid for by Veracel, a 3,575-meter-long sewage collection pipe will be built.

For the development of stages B and C, corresponding to the rest of the location, Veracel expects to count on the help of companies involved in its pulp mill construction. The first to express an interest in being a part of this important project was Serpal (a construction contractor), providing an example of partnership and commitment.

Next was Nexa, an Information Technology consulting company that also demonstrated interest in supporting the project, conscious of the fact that such measures will significantly improve the health of the population, as well as help in minimizing the consequences of flooding.

Nevertheless, Veracel hopes that more companies involved in its pulp mill project will collaborate to help make the region influenced by the company increasingly prosperous and more developed.
