Paving of access road from main highway to mill initiated - 09.03.04
Highway BA-685 linking Santa Cruz Cabrália to the Veracel pulp mill construction site is being prepared for paving, to be carried out over the next few months. A 31-km stretch of the road from the Tânia Guerrieri neighborhood to the Ponto Central district, both in the municipality of Santa Cruz Cabrália, will be paved.
Duly licensed by Bahia state’s Environmental Research Center (CRA), the work is a partnership between Verace and the government of the state. Paving of the stretch is scheduled for conclusion in May 2005.
Besides facilitating the shipment of the production of pulp from the future mill, the paved road will benefit thousands of residents, offering improved access to other region.
