Workers resume construction activities - 11.12.04
Veracel Celulose S/A reports that the work stoppage on the part of employees of construction contractors at its pulp mill construction site has ended. In a meeting held this morning, the workers approved a proposal discussed last night by their representatives and the negotiation team, and immediately returned to work.
Veracel would like to congratulate the representatives of both sides for the balanced and high level talks that were held. It also wishes to thank the support service companies that maintained their operations during the work stoppage period, contributing to the continuity of the basic services that are indispensable to the well being of everybody at the site.
The company furthermore recognizes the effort and support received from public authorities involved, especially the Military Police and the state government of Bahia.
