Renato Guéron appointed as Veracel's new President and CEO - 06.14.05

photoAracruz Celulose and Stora Enso announced today the nomination of Renato Guéron as the President and CEO of Veracel Celulose S.A.

Guéron substitutes Vitor Costa, who successfully completed his mission to head up the company during the construction phase of the new pulp mill in Bahia, which recently initiated operating tests.

Guéron, who until now was the Veracel Project Director, has extensive experience in the sector, and should contribute to the consolidation of the company’s operations.

Veracel is one of the largest private industrial projects in Brazil of the past few years. Its ownership control is shared between partners Aracruz and Stora Enso, who each have a 50% stake in the project. The total investment, including forests, the pulp mill and infrastructure, is approximately US$ 1.2 billion.
