NGOs and Veracel meet to exchange experiences about environmental issues
A partnership project between Veracel Celulose and Conservação Nacional do Brasil and Naturezabela, two environmental NGOs, organized a workshop on how to establish training networks for social work projects on May 15, and 16 in Porto Seguro, Bahia. The event was part of an on-going Communication and Environmental Project that Veracel is running in its areas of influence.
According to Veracel's Social Responsibility manager, Lívia Sacramento, the goal of the workshop was to offer the participants the opportunity to exchange experiences, presenting and enhancing the knowledge of the participants regarding social work articulation networks. The workshop also was designed to foster the formation of a network of communication and environmental education institutions to stimulate social dialogue with stakeholders.
"The invited participants already have experience in communication, environmental education and social organization, representing municipal government departments responsible for the environment and education, teaching institutions, municipal councils and non-governmental organizations," said Ms. Sacramento.
