- Beginning of the activities of Veracruz Florestal Ltda., as a subsidiary of Odebrecht
- The company makes its first land acquisitions in the south of Bahia, among them the Veracruz Station (currently Veracel Station)
1992
- Eucalyptus planting begins
1997
- Association of Odebrecht and Stora (Sweden)
1998
- Change of the name of the company to Veracel Celulose S/A
1999
- Merger of Stora (Sweden) and Enso (Finland) creating Stora Enso, which confirms its interest in the project
2000
- New shareholders’ agreement marks the entry of Aracruz into the project
2001
- Belmonte Marine Terminal (TMB) construction begins
- Forestry harvest operations begin
2002
- TMB initiates wood transportation operations
- Beginning of wood transportation and sales
2003
- Odebrecht sells remaining stake to the other partners in the project
- Board approves pulp mill project construction
- Mill construction begins

- Approval of funding of the project by multilateral agencies and the BNDES
- Creation and approval of the Sustainability Agenda
