Veracel's Management Policy
The operations of Veracel Celulose S/A, a company located in the far south of the state of Bahia and a supplier of bleached eucalyptus pulp, are supported on the sustainability of its actions, which in turn are based on the economic, social and environmental elements of the project. We seek to ensure our sustainability agenda through the following commitments:
- To promote actions that make our operations competitive through operating excellence, striving for low costs, constantly satisfying the specified requirements for products and services and maintaining and improving customer satisfaction.
- To promote actions for the continuous improvement of the integrated management system, adopting the best practices for preventing, eliminating or reducing pollution situations and significant risks to individual and social safety, health and well being of all stakeholders associated with Veracel's activities.
- To comply with the legislation that is applicable to all activities conducted by Veracel, and all of the regulations, codes of good practices or rules to which Veracel has become a signatory.
- To incorporate, implement and maintain in its forestry management activities and chain of custody the Principles and Criteria of the National Forestry Certification Program (CERFLOR).
- To promote actions that foster the economic, social and environmental development of the regions surrounding Veracel's activities.
- To maintain a permanent and transparent communication process with stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, outsourced companies and workers, employees, communities and others.
- To train its employees and encourage the training of its suppliers so that they carry out their activities in a professional and responsible manner with regard to environmental, quality, health and safety and labor relationship issues.
