An integrated project

foto projetoThe Veracel Celulose facility is an integrated agro-industrial project that encompasses all of the pulp production stages - from the planting of eucalyptus trees until the delivery of the end product.

The company’s two shareholders absorb the pulp that we produce. Fibria sells the product together with its other production volumes. For its part, Stora Enso ships the pulp to its various paper manufacturing facilities around the world.

We run our own nursery, where we produce selected eucalyptus seedlings and seedlings of 350 species Atlantic Forest trees. All of the raw material used for making pulp comes from environmentally sustainable and certified eucalyptus plantations.

Inaugurated in September 2005, the Veracel mill has the capacity for the production of 900,000 tons of bleached eucalyptus pulp per year and is considered one of the most advanced manufacturing units in the world.

The unit also operates an exclusive marine terminal for shipping production to the Port of Portocel, from where the pulp is sent to the international market, especially Europe, the U.S. and Asia.

In an effort to preserve and recover the Atlantic Forest, we have reserved 48% of our land for the recovery and protection of native forests, nearly this same amount that we use to grow our eucalyptus crops.
